Jan Henning

After years of endless tours through Europe and the steady presence at events like the "North Sea Jazz Festival / The Hague", "Leverkusener Jazztage" or the "Euro-Pop-Days" he expanded his territory and became a U.S. resident in 1996.

The cooperation with artists like the New York jazz voice Mary Rodena, the Dutch percussion magician Nippy Noya, the Danish bass superstar Niels-Henning Ørsted-Pedersen, the Brazilian singer and percussionist Angela Frontera, the L.A. based keyboard legend Brian Auger and many, many others from all around the world let him build up a huge musical vocabulary beyond cultural borders.

In the L.A. studio scene, during the recording sessions of his latest album "Sunset Avenue", his jaw-dropping technical abilities and his large vocabulary of styles earned Henning his nickname "The German Guitar Psycho". He took this as a compliment and since then the abbreviation "G.G.P." is a part of his signature.
